Rocky Mountain National Park Passport

Rocky Mountain National Park, as well as the other national parks, are a treasure trove of natural beauty, wildlife, and adventure. Visiting our national parks is not only a great way to spend time with family and friends but also an opportunity to learn about the environment and conservation. To make the experience even more engaging, the National Park Service has created the National Park Passport Program for kids (although adults can enjoy it as well!)

The National Park Passport Program is a fun way for someone to explore national parks, learn about their history and significance, and collect stamps as they go. The passport is a small booklet that contains pages for each national park. When someone visits a park, they can get their passport stamped at the visitor center or any designated location. The stamp shows the name of the park, the date of the visit, and sometimes a unique image or design related to the park.

One of the benefits of the National Park Passport Program is that it encourages kids to visit different parks and sites. As they collect more stamps, they can see how far they have traveled and how many places they have visited. It’s a great way to instill a sense of adventure and curiosity as well as an appreciation for our natural and cultural heritage.

Another benefit of the program is that it provides a tangible keepsake of park experiences. The passport becomes a personal record of their travels and memories, something they can look back on and share with others. It’s also a great way to introduce kids to the concept of collecting, as they can strive to collect all the stamps and complete their passport.

The National Park Passport Program is easy to start and participate in. Passports can be purchased at any national park or online through the National Park Service website. The passport costs $10 and includes pages for all the parks and sites in the program. Stamps are free and can be obtained at each park’s visitor center or ranger station.
